Dr. Bill Link, principal at Washington Intermediate School in Pekin, has been selected by the District 108 Board of Education to replace Superintendent Don White. Dr. White is leaving at the end of this school year to become superintendent for the Troy School District in Shorewood, IL.
Link started in District 108 as a teacher at Edison Junior High School 13 years ago before moving on to become the principal at Washington. Perhaps the selection of a local administrator will calm the nerves of some of the xenophobic anti-108 hooligans. Maybe even Jim Mangan will cut out his raging diatribes against the district and give the new superintendent a fair chance to prove himself.
(SNORT!) Yeah right!
I wish Dr. Link the best of luck. I hope he’s ready to stand up to the Manganites.
