A Father Again
July 4th, 2008 · 11 Comments
At 12:10 this morning, almost exactly 8 1/2 years after Little Dragon #1 arrived, Little Dragon #5 entered this world for the first time. She weighed 6 pounds, 3 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well, and dad’s damn proud of both of them.

Armageddon at the Knightly Manor
June 11th, 2008 · 7 Comments
My wife is pregnant with Little Dragon #5 and is now entering her 183rd week of pregnancy (the grand total of previous pregnancies ranging from 36-38 weeks, and the current pregnancy now approaching 33 weeks). Please feel free to shower her with gifts for this amazing accomplishment, and to congratulate me for surviving it! [...]

What A Day …
May 13th, 2008 · 6 Comments
Monday, May 12 …
The day starts rather unremarkably. I shave, shower, dress for work, and kiss the girls goodbye. All pretty standard so far. At work, I actually get a chance to sit down and eat some breakfast & scan the JS because my first patient cancels.
Then around 9:30 or so, it [...]

Happy Mother’s Day!
May 13th, 2007 · No Comments
I just wanted to say happy Mother’s Day and thank you to my mom (who put up with my obnoxiousness for so many years), my wife (for the 150 weeks of pregnancy she endured and the beautiful little girls she’s given me) and all the other moms out there!

Congrats to the Lady Dragons!
April 22nd, 2007 · 1 Comment
The Pekin girls soccer team won the inaugural Lady Dragon Invitational at Coal Miner’s Park this weekend. After attending the Celebrate 108 even at the Dragons Dome, I dropped by with Little Dragons #1, #2 & #3 to see the final game against Lincoln on Saturday afternoon. The Pekin girls won that game [...]

Jesus Sighted on Court Street
April 7th, 2007 · 1 Comment
I had an interesting conversation with my wife on Friday. It went something like this:
M’lady: “I saw Jesus today on my way to the doctor.”
KiD (not quite sure I heard that right … although I am always attentive when my wife speaks): “Huh?”
M’lady: “I drove past Jesus walking down Court Street. Cross. [...]
I’m Slackin’
March 8th, 2007 · 7 Comments
I know … I stir up a big hornets nest here and then I slack off. My excuses?
1) Well, there’s always the four kids.
2) I was on call over the weekend and today … which is why I’m up late. Naughty babies. They don’t listen to their doctor.
3) My mom just had [...]

Snowmageddon Pic Gets Placed on Daily Dish
December 6th, 2006 · 3 Comments
“Snowmageddon.” Heh! Leave it to Ms. McGee to come up with the perfectly compact and witty description of our “welcome to December” blizzard. Although Pekin certainly seemed to handle it a bit better than Peoria, it still brought it’s share of headaches (and backaches!) over here.
However, the snow did provide for great photo ops. [...]
Snow!
December 1st, 2006 · No Comments
Since everyone else seems to feel the need to proclaim the obvious … I thought I’d tag along for the ride. I nearly couldn’t get the back door open wide enough to let the dog out to pee.
After lunch, the Little Dragons are suiting up with enough layers to stop AP rounds and venturing [...]

Gorging Myself On Candy
October 31st, 2006 · 2 Comments
After three or four different Halloween parties for the kids and trick-or-treating at multiple locations, our house is now filled to the rafters with candy. It is my duty as a father to save my children from sucrose excess and partake in some of the overflow. My mother sent home an entire bag [...]

Little Dragons #1 & #2 Take 2nd Place in Soccer
October 26th, 2006 · 3 Comments
I’m home now, so time for catch up blogging. My two oldest daughters play soccer with the Boys & Girls Club of Pekin, and last weekend was their championship game. Unfortunately they ran into the best player in the league – Edgar Sandoval’s son. He scored both goals for the yellow team and the “Sting” [...]

Little Dragon #3 Strikes Again
October 5th, 2006 · 1 Comment
I come home. Little Dragons #1 & #2 are playing nicely in the family room. Where is Little Dragon #3? She has been sent to her room to calm down after another misadventure – chucking her Fairytopia Barbie at LD#2. LD#3 has quite the temper and can be rather aggressive at [...]

My Oldest, the Soccer Hero
October 4th, 2006 · No Comments
My oldest daughter (Knight’s Little Dragon #1) scored the winning goal on a penalty kick in her soccer game on Monday, and she made 3 saves while playing goalie during the last quarter. Woooohoooo!! Her little sister (Knight’s Little Dragon #2) is one of the youngest kids on the team, so she’s still figuring things [...]
